A Collaborative Model for Participatory Load Management in the Smart Grid

چکیده
The major task of a grid operator is perfectly balancing the demand of all customers at any instant with supply. One of the facets of the Smart Grid vision is tackling the problem of balancing demand with supply using strategies that act on the demand side. With the deployment of intelligent ICT devices in domestic environments, homes are becoming smarter and able to optimise the electricity consumption to minimise costs and/or meet supply constraints. In this work, we envision a scenario where smart homes actively participate in the balancing of demand with supply by forming groups of electricity consumers that agree on a joint demand profile to be contracted with a retail electricity provider. We put forward a novel business model as well as an optimisation model for collaborative load management, showing the economic benefits for the participants.

The Influence of Smart Grid on TOU Programs With Respect to Production Cost and Load Factor, A Case Study of Iran
Reaching an electricity system which is both economically efficient and environmentally friendly is motivating countries to design and execute different types of TOU demand response programs. But there are certain deficiencies which prevent these programs to effectively modify the load shape. Smart grid as a means could help the electricity system to reach the highest demand side management ...

Introduction: The present study was conducted to identify the components of the participatory management model in the ninth-grade science classroom in a district of Karaj. Classroom participatory management is an important part of the education process and facilitates the teaching-learning system and facilitates the learning process. Studies in Iran show that classroom management has received l...
متن کاملTransmission Congestion Management Considering Uncertainty of Demand Response Resources’ Participation
Under the smart grid environment, demand response resources (DRRs) are introduced as a virtual power plant to enhance power system adequacy. DRRs often fail to reduce their load due to some external factors. In this paper, a reliability model of a DRR is constructed as multi-state conventional generation units, where the probability, frequency of occurrence, and departure rate of each state can...
متن کاملSmart load shedding in distribution networks considering the importance of loads
One of the most important tasks of operators in distribution companies is to restoration after a fault in the network. In load restoration schemes, in addition to observing the load flow constraints, it is necessary to maintain the grid structure radially and, most importantly, observing the balance of consumption with the possibility of providing load due to the limitations of the backup feede...
متن کاملAdaptive Setting of UFLS Relay Using Hourly Programming with Consideration of Renewable Energy Sources in Smart Grid
In the light of the emergence of smart grids, the functions associated with this type of grids in the blocks of the energy management system require the adoption of robust strategies in order to provide a higher level of control and protection. Under-frequency load shedding (UFLS) sheds load blocks when the frequency drop is below the threshold limit. In adaptive UFLS, in an advanced telecommun...
